Happy Summer from Pier 11 Studio

Summer is a time of getting out and having fun in the sun with friends and family, so, no matter what you have planned, we hope you are doing just that. When Fall swings back around, we will be here with some exciting class programming.

Thank you for joining our email list, following us and participating in the many creative offerings we launched back in February. We wanted to take this Summer moment to share some changes and details about our plans as we move forward. Originating co-founder Ren Allen has completed her tenure and moved on to her next adventure. Founder Elise Wagner will team up with partner and future husband Gabe Fernandez to strengthen and boost the programming and vision of Pier 11 Studio. We look forward to seeing you at the Astoria Open Studios Tour July 26 & 27!

We are so excited to combine our creative forces to bring a deeper sense of a creative community to Astoria. Continuing on our mission to offer classes from quality instructors who are practicing artists, we have a spectacular lineup for Fall with some stellar guest instructors such as Mark Mahaffey, Jane Pagliarulo, Ben Rosenberg and Tallmadge Doyle.

As for the future of Pier 11 Studio, it hangs in the balance of an offer recently accepted on the Pier 11 building. We renewed our lease through December, 2025 and the sale could force us to move. So be sure and take advantage of our classes and the beautiful space while we have it! The good news is that we do have a back up space already in place to relocate to. More on that as it develops. Our business name may change for obvious reasons but our mission will stay the same: because art keeps going. So, be ready for news in the New Year!

Both Gabe and I hope you have a most glorious rest of your Summer. If you are in the North Coast area during Astoria Artwalk every second Saturday, please find us on the map and stop in, we’d love to see you! In the meantime, watch for our Autumn blog with further news and updates!
