About Lindsay Aarts
Lindsey Aarts is a watercolor and mixed media collage artist based in Astoria, Oregon whose work reflects her love for the natural landscape of the Pacific Northwest. From creating textures and backgrounds to fun and dynamic illustrations, watercolor has long been Lindsey’s favorite medium to both work with and share with others. As a self-taught artist who began drawing and painting early in life, she formalized her art practice in 2017 after moving to the Oregon coast and has since found local gallery representation, participated in several group and solo shows, and completed a six-month artist residency through Astoria Visual Arts.
In 2021, Lindsey began leading watercolor workshops utilizing a friendly, process-based approach that allows beginners to understand basic techniques through exercises and experimentation. Helping others find joy in beginning a creative practice fuels her love for teaching and provides endless joy and inspiration for her own art.

Join us for a Basic Watercolor Class designed for beginners who may not know where to start.
This class provides a friendly and supportive environment in which to explore the fundamentals of watercolor painting. We will focus on essential techniques--color mixing, brush control, and layering. The emphasis will be on understanding the process and developing your skills rather than creating finished pieces.
