Art Movie Night at Pier 11 Studio

Since February, we’ve been hosting Art Movie Night for the community—and it’s been such a rewarding experience to see it grow. Each gathering brings thoughtful conversation, shared inspiration, and even a little magic (especially now that we have a donated popcorn popper!).

We’re excited to share this video of our post-film discussion, created by local artist James Gainey, who also hosts the Meet the Artists Podcast. His work beautifully captures the spirit of these evenings and the connections being formed. Art Movie Night has become a meaningful way to come together, reflect, and talk about how art enriches our lives—and we’d love for you to join us.

Our next screening is May 1, featuring  Rivers and Tides: Andy Goldsworthy Working with Time.

Doors at 7:30 PM | Screening at 8 PM
BYOB • Popcorn, non-alcoholic beverages, water, and tea provided
Suggested donation
Limited Space: RSVP encouraged

We hope you enjoy the video—and hope to see you at the next Art Movie Night!

Also, be sure to check out the recent feature on James and his podcast in The Daily Astorian below.

Meet the Artists Podcast

HOST, JAMES GAINEY

As we each do our small part to enrich the local art community and bring people together, it’s inspiring to see others doing the same. One of the newest additions to our creative circle, James Gainey, has done just that with his Meet the Artists Podcast —creating space for artists to share their voices, stories, and processes.

His efforts have already begun to ripple outward, strengthening connections and shining a light on the vibrant talent in our region. It’s no surprise that his work was recently recognized in The Daily Astorian, highlighting both his initiative and the growing momentum of our local arts scene.
